Synthetic Organisms AR
Cyborg. On 12 circular stands, the visitor is confronted with 12 graphics illustrating the birth or creation of synthetic organisms. All 12 prints were created in collaboration with artificial intelligence. Based on the keyboards, the AI generated a visual story of the creation of the synthetic organism. The visitor has the possibility to scan the graphics using the ARTIVIVE app with a tablet or smartphone. This reveals the faces of the entities that have contributed to the understanding of robots and other synthetic organisms. The expressions on the faces of these entities are animated or brought to life by artificial intelligence.
The key questions that the Synthetic Organisms AR installation confronts us with are. What do we understand as life today? Different definitions are falling away as scientific discoveries are made, replaced by new and new ones. The bio-entity as the basic building block of all living things is losing its purpose. It is being replaced by a set of achievements of science, the development of technology, a simulacrum of reality into which we also project all our desires, longings and fears. The question is no longer who we are and where we are going, but who or what will succeed us.
